Title: Transmigrated as the Doomed Fake Heiress: The System Demands I Slap Faces!
CHAPTER 4: THE ABSOLUTE DOMINATION
I stood there like an avenging goddess, the glittering light of the screens casting a halo around me.
"You're dead, Lin Xia..." Gu Chen hissed, his voice trembling with a terrifying, cornered-animal desperation. He pulled a sleek, silver pocketknife from his suit jacket. "If I'm going down, I'm taking you to hell with me!"
He lunged at me, the blade aiming straight for my heart. The crowd shrieked.
I didn't move. I had the System. I could buy a dozen ways to stop him.
But before I could even access the system store, the heavy, towering mahogany doors of the ballroom were violently blown open.
BANG!
A deafening gunshot rang out.
The silver knife flew out of Gu Chen's hand, shattered by a perfectly aimed bullet. Gu Chen screamed, clutching his bloody wrist, falling to his knees.
The frantic screaming in the ballroom died instantly, replaced by a cold, suffocating terror. The air in the room seemed to drop twenty degrees. Even my System went momentarily silent.
Heavy, synchronized footsteps echoed into the hall. Two dozen men dressed in terrifyingly pristine black tactical gear marched in, forming a perfect corridor. They were armed to the teeth, their faces cold and emotionless.
At the end of the corridor, an electric wheelchair hummed softly as it glided into the light.
The man sitting in the wheelchair was devastatingly handsome, but his skin was as pale as a vampire's, giving him an aura of sickly fragility that sharply contrasted with the terrifying power he radiated. He wore a dark, velvet suit, a thick woolen blanket draped over his motionless legs. His eyes—pitch black and fathomless—swept over the room like a grim reaper surveying his harvest.
Lu Qingshan.
My breath hitched. Even as a reader of the novel, the name made me shiver. Lu Qingshan was the ultimate, hidden big boss of this world. He was the sickly, crippled oligarch who controlled the global underworld and the international financial markets. He was a man who could bankrupt a country over morning tea. Gu Chen had spent the last five years desperately trying to get an audience with Lu Qingshan, only to be rejected every single time.
In the original novel, Lu Qingshan was a ruthless ghost who eventually crushed Gu Chen’s empire just for getting in his way. He never cared about the Lin Xia or Su Rou drama.
So why was he here?
Gu Chen, ignoring his bleeding wrist, looked at the man in the wheelchair. A manic, desperate spark of hope lit up his eyes.
"Master Lu!" Gu Chen cried out, scrambling on his knees, entirely abandoning his CEO dignity. He crawled toward the wheelchair like a begging dog. "Master Lu, you're here! You must have seen the chaos! This crazy woman, Lin Xia, has hacked my systems and assaulted me! Please, Master Lu, lend me your men! I promise you fifty percent of the Gu Group shares if you help me kill her!"
The room held its breath. If Lu Qingshan agreed, Lin Xia was dead. No system could save me from the sheer military might of the Lu family.
Lu Qingshan’s wheelchair came to a smooth halt, a few feet away from Gu Chen. The terrifying billionaire didn't even look at the groveling CEO. He didn't blink. He just stared past him... straight at me.
"Gu Chen," Lu Qingshan's voice was low, raspy, and dangerously soft. It sent shivers down my spine. "You want to kill her?"
"Yes!" Gu Chen shouted, his face twisted in malice. "She is a lowly, disowned fake heiress! She is trash! She deserves to be locked in the basement and left to rot!"
Lu Qingshan finally moved. He raised a pale, slender finger.
The head of his tactical team stepped forward and kicked Gu Chen viciously in the jaw. Gu Chen spat blood and teeth, collapsing backward onto the marble floor.
"Trash?" Lu Qingshan murmured softly.
He pressed the joystick on his wheelchair, gliding directly toward me. The crowd parted like the Red Sea. Nobody dared to breathe. Father Su and Mother Su were shaking uncontrollably, pressing themselves against the wall.
Lu Qingshan stopped right in front of me. His dark, fathomless eyes locked onto mine. There was a strange, burning intensity in them—a possessiveness that made my heart skip a beat.
Slowly, agonizingly, the crippled billionaire reached out his pale, cold hand. He gently took my hand in his. His thumb brushed over the small cut on my knuckles where I had hit the bodyguard.
He bowed his head, pressing his lips softly to my bruised skin.
A collective, horrified gasp echoed through the ballroom. The untouchable, germaphobic, ruthless Master Lu... was kissing the hand of the disowned fake heiress?
"My apologies for being late, Madam," Lu Qingshan said softly, his deep voice carrying clearly in the silent room. "Traffic was terrible."
Madam?!
My brain short-circuited. What the hell is going on? System, did you do this?! [System: Beep boop. Host, this entity’s power level exceeds my parameters. I have no idea what is happening. Good luck!]
Useless piece of junk!
Gu Chen, spitting blood on the floor, stared in utter disbelief. "Master Lu... what are you doing? She... she's Lin Xia! She's nobody!"
Lu Qingshan slowly turned his head. The look he gave Gu Chen was one of looking at a dead insect.
"Nobody?" Lu Qingshan's voice dropped to a freezing whisper. He reached into his velvet jacket and pulled out a small, red booklet, tossing it onto the floor right in front of Gu Chen's face.
The gold characters on the booklet gleamed under the chandeliers: Marriage Certificate.
"Lin Xia is my legally wedded wife," Lu Qingshan stated, his voice ringing with absolute, crushing authority. "She is the mistress of the Lu family, the heir to my global assets, and as of five minutes ago, the sole legal owner of this very hotel."
The silence in the room was absolute. It was the sound of a hundred elite socialites simultaneously having their worldviews shattered.
Gu Chen stared at the red booklet, his eyes rolling back in his head. He literally fainted from the shock. Su Rou collapsed to her knees, weeping hysterically, realizing she had just framed the wife of the most terrifying man on earth.
Lu Qingshan looked back up at me, a tiny, almost imperceptible smirk playing on his pale lips.
"Darling," he whispered, loud enough only for me to hear. "I believe your ex-fiancé just threatened to break your legs. Shall I have my men break all of his, and throw him in the basement for you?"
I stared down at the terrifying, handsome villain, feeling the absolute chaotic thrill of my new life rushing through my veins. A wicked smile spread across my face.
"Just the legs?" I replied, squeezing his cold hand. "Master Lu, you're being far too merciful."
