Title: Transmigrated as the Doomed Fake Heiress: The System Demands I Slap Faces!
CHAPTER 11: THE SOVEREIGN
I laughed harder, the sound cutting through the freezing rain, echoing with a dark, terrifying amusement. I slowly walked down the marble steps toward Ye Muxue, entirely ignoring the thirty pulse rifles pointed directly at my chest.
"You spent three billion dollars..." I said, wiping a tear of mirth from my eye, "...on a pill I threw in the garbage disposal three years ago because it was too contaminated with heavy metals?"
Ye Muxue froze. "What... what nonsense are you spouting?!"
"Oh, it's not nonsense, little girl," I said, my voice dropping to a terrifying, authoritative register that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. "The 'Nine-Heavens Cleansing Pill' requires a pure distillation of snow-lotus root. That pill you're holding is brown, isn't it? It oxidized. If Lu Qingshan swallows that, his liver will shut down in forty-eight hours. You didn't bring him life, Ye Muxue. You brought him a three-billion-dollar suicide pill."
Elder Lu scoffed loudly. "Preposterous! You uneducated wench, how dare you question the Ghost Doctor's unparalleled skills?! Muxue, show her the proof! Show her the token!"
Ye Muxue, her face flushed red with rage, pulled a gleaming, metallic card from her pocket. It was a silver card, embossed with a black skull and a lotus flower.
"This is a Silver Affiliate Card of the Apex Syndicate!" Ye Muxue screamed, thrusting it forward like a shield. "My father is a recognized partner of the Sovereign! The Shadow Death Guards behind me belong to the Syndicate's mercenary branch! They answer only to this card! Guards! Execute this lying bitch! Turn her into Swiss cheese!"
The thirty elite guards raised their pulse rifles. The hum of charging energy weapons filled the air.
Lu Qingshan roared, his aura exploding as he tried to throw himself out of his wheelchair to shield me, "Lin Xia!"
"Stay seated, Husband," I commanded without looking back.
I stopped three feet from Ye Muxue. I reached into the hidden pocket of my ruined dress.
"A Silver Card?" I murmured, shaking my head in profound pity. "A tier-four novelty item given to low-level clients who spend a few billion? And you treat it like an imperial decree?"
I pulled my hand out of my pocket.
Between my index and middle finger rested a card. It wasn't silver. It wasn't gold. It was forged from pure, light-absorbing obsidian, glowing with a faint, internal crimson luminescence. In the center was the crest of the Apex Syndicate—but unlike her card, mine featured a crown hovering over the skull.
The Black Gold Apex Token. The absolute symbol of the Sovereign.
"Let me teach you how the syndicate actually works," I said, my voice resonating with an unnatural, commanding echo.
The moment the Black Gold token caught the headlights of the Humvees, an absolute, paralyzing silence fell over the Warlord’s elite troops.
The captain of the Shadow Death Guards—a massive, scarred veteran who had been aiming his rifle squarely at my head—suddenly gasped. His eyes locked onto the token. All color drained from his weathered face.
He didn't hesitate for a microsecond. He dropped his state-of-the-art rifle on the wet pavement.
CLATTER.
The captain fell to his knees, slamming his forehead against the freezing cobblestones in a gesture of absolute, terrifying submission.
"The Sovereign descends!" the captain roared, his voice trembling with sheer awe and terror.
As if his voice was a physical shockwave, all thirty elite Shadow Death Guards dropped their weapons simultaneously. They fell to their knees in the mud and rain, kowtowing so hard the ground shook.
"THE SOVEREIGN DESCENDS! WE GREET THE APEX MASTER!" thirty voices bellowed into the night sky, completely ignoring the Warlord's daughter.
Ye Muxue staggered backward, her high heel catching on the cobblestone. She fell hard onto her backside, the wooden box tumbling from her hands and splashing into a muddy puddle. The "three-billion-dollar" pill rolled out, dissolving instantly into cheap, brown sludge in the rain.
"No..." Ye Muxue whimpered, her mind completely snapping as she looked from her pathetic Silver Card to my glowing Obsidian Token. "No! It's impossible! You're a fake heiress! You're Lin Xia! You're nobody!"
Elder Lu clutched his chest, his face turning a sickly, mottled purple. He gasped for air, his heart literally giving out under the sheer, incomprehensible shock that the feral woman he just insulted was the hidden emperor of the global underworld.
"I am Lin Xia," I said, stepping over the puddle and looking down at the shivering, weeping Warlord's daughter. I flicked the Black Gold token in my fingers. "And I am also the Ghost Doctor. I am the Apex Sovereign. Your father doesn't own this army, Ye Muxue. I do."
I looked at the kneeling captain. "Captain."
"Yes, Sovereign!" he shouted, his face still pressed to the ground.
"Miss Ye and Elder Lu have overstayed their welcome. Strip them of their coats. Break their legs. And force them to walk back to the Northern Province in the freezing rain. If they die of hypothermia on the way, blame the weather."
"AT ONCE, SOVEREIGN!"
The guards surged upward. Ye Muxue began to scream hysterically as two massive mercenaries grabbed her by the hair, dragging her toward the gates while she kicked and sobbed. Elder Lu, wheezing and clutching his chest, was unceremoniously lifted by his collar and dragged behind her, his cane left forgotten in the mud.
