System Demands I Slap Faces chapter 12

Title: Transmigrated as the Doomed Fake Heiress: The System Demands I Slap Faces!

CHAPTER 12: THE DEVIL'S WHISPER

The Humvees reversed out of the estate, taking the screaming trash with them. The silence that fell over the courtyard was absolute, save for the rhythmic crashing of the ocean against the cliffs.

I stood in the rain for a moment, letting the cold wash over my exhausted, adrenaline-soaked body. Slowly, I turned around.

Lu Qingshan’s elite tactical guards were staring at me as if I were a living god. They parted like the Red Sea as I walked back up the marble steps toward my husband.

Lu Qingshan was staring at me. His chest heaved beneath his velvet suit. The cold, detached, sickly billionaire was gone. In his place was a predator who had just witnessed his ultimate match—a woman who didn't need his protection, because she could conquer the world entirely on her own.

I walked right up to his wheelchair. I didn't say a word. I reached into my system inventory and materialized the shimmering, pearlescent Immortal Poison Cleansing Pill. It glowed with a pure, divine light that cut through the darkness.

I pressed it gently to his pale lips.

"Swallow it," I ordered softly. "It won't cure you overnight, but it will purge the poison from your heart. You aren't dying this year, Lu Qingshan. I won't allow it."

He didn't hesitate. He opened his mouth, his lips brushing against my fingertips, and swallowed the pill.

Instantly, a surge of visible, golden energy pulsed through his veins. The sickly, translucent pallor of his skin was immediately replaced by a healthy, vibrant flush. The heavy, labored rasp in his breathing vanished.

Lu Qingshan closed his eyes, his hands gripping the armrests of his wheelchair so hard the metal groaned. For the first time in his life, the agonizing pain in his blood was gone.

When he opened his eyes again, the darkness in them had deepened into something entirely consuming.

He didn't use the joystick. He didn't call for his guards.

Lu Qingshan placed his hands on the armrests, his muscles straining. And then, slowly, miraculously, the crippled billionaire stood up.

He towered over me, a terrifying monument of lethal power and devastating handsomeness. He stepped forward, his legs holding his weight perfectly.

Before I could react, his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling my wet, bloodstained body flush against his chest. He buried his face in my neck, inhaling deeply, his cold lips pressing against my pulse point.

"My wife..." he whispered, his raspy voice sending a violent tremor through my core. "My sovereign. My savior."

I wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders, a triumphant smile blooming on my face. I had done it. I had survived the death flag, slapped the faces of the protagonists, conquered the villains, and secured the ultimate big shot as my devoted husband. The System points were maxed out. I was untouchable.

But then, as Lu Qingshan held me tighter in the freezing rain, his lips brushed against my ear.

His next words froze the blood in my veins.

"You were magnificent tonight, Lin Xia," he whispered, his tone shifting into something terrifyingly familiar—a cadence that didn't belong to a novel character.

"Though," Lu Qingshan murmured softly, a dark, knowing smirk playing on his lips against my skin, "I must admit... your Shadow-Step Agility form is slightly sloppier than it was in your previous life. Did the transmigration damage your soul, my dear Host?"

My eyes blew wide open. My heart completely stopped.

[CRITICAL ERROR! CRITICAL ERROR!] the System suddenly shrieked in my mind, the interface turning a blinding, bloody red. [TARGET AURA UNMASKED! HE IS NOT LU QINGSHAN! REPEAT! HE IS NOT LU QINGSHAN!]

Lu Qingshan pulled back just enough to look me in the eyes. His pitch-black irises suddenly glitched, flashing a glowing, neon binary blue.

"Welcome to Level 2, darling," he smiled, his voice perfectly mimicking the mechanical chime of my own System. "Did you really think I'd let you play this game alone?"
